My painting is impressionistic and abstract in style.

I am inspired by music, visions and emotions.

Originally I began working with watercolor.

I enjoyed the flow and dance of water with paint on the paper.

Watching how the colors could blend and also work around each other has always been an intriguing yet fun experience.

Finding the right balance of water to paint ratio is challenging but rewarding.

Eventually I came to realize the freedom that comes with working in acrylics.

Being able to work freely with a medium that allows for more flexibility

has been a great contrast to working with watercolor.

I enjoy layering the acrylic paint and using it in different thicknesses

to create texture on the canvas.

Blending the paint into different tones and creating new color schemes seems to be a never-ending source of creativity and inspiration.

In all of my work, regardless of medium, I use a rich & dramatic blending of color into subject.

This technique helps to inspire and connect me to the world within as well as around me.

I'm originally from Vancouver British Columbia Canada, but have lived and made my home on the upper west side of New York City with my wife and our cat Moki for the past 27 years.

New York City offers endless inspiration and sparks my creativity on a daily basis.
